Well I am going to be heading over to hunt roe deer and boar in the Czech Republic and Lithuania in late July and early August. First hunting trip in the EU and there are a LOT of airlines offering flights from Canada to various destinations in Europe.

What airlines do you frequent fliers consider the best bang for the buck? I am not going to be taking a firearm, just going to borrow one over there, so firearms are not an issue. For me leg room is an issue due to bad knees, but I am not in the first class ticket income level. Smiler

Turkish Airlines were very good on my recent trip.
Air France was very good as well. They are a little paranoid on guns, but I made it ok.

Get your agent to book an Economy Plus seat or just buy two economy seats. I have done both and it works on my 6' 3" frame.

You're interested in the seat pitch measurement. That's the distance between the front of your seat to the back of the row in front of you. Here's a list with airline, aircraft and seat pitch. basically it's 30 - 33 inches with economy plus going up to 35"

Been to Spain twice hunting, and used Staralliance both times, because of my aeroplan points. Had no troubles at all with the rifle or bags both times. Air Canada from Saskatoon,to Toronto,to Frankfurt, Lufthansa Frankfurt,to Madrid each time. One thing for sure, the Boeing 777 Air Canada used was a lot nicer and more room, than the Airbus Lufthansa used.

Turkish Airlines is fantastic. Avoid Air Canada Rouge at all costs. We just did a Rouge flight from Toronto to Barcelona. One really pathetic meal, no snacks, no screens for movies, two small cups of water and $7.50 for a beer and surly staff.
