Anyone keep ferrets here in Euro?

I want a few for buddies and to keep my kid entertained when I get to Spain.

I am alergic to cat dander I also hate them, so that's out.

I like dogs, but am not sure what kind of place I will end up with in Italy.

What do you know?

Ferrets are regularly kept by game wardens and we use them when in need of destroying rabbits (we, hunters are held liable for crop damage). Personally, I use this method sparingly and only in case of real overpopulation for it is really deadly and a lot of pregnant females are killed.

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

female ferrets are hard to keep healthy during the summer when they are "in heat", and males do have a strong scent for attracting a mate around the same time. i"ve had ferrets for 20 yrs, although i"ve only had one (male) for a few years, and did"nt use him last winter at all. i would only hunt with a ferret during the colder months when rabbits are less likely to breed.
males can be de-scented, which requires a small operation by a vetenary surgeon. i"ve never had this done(on a ferret, not myself!), as i primarily keep them for hunting.
they are usually good natured, if handled well when young. they would make good pets(i would recommend males), and can even be house trained.

D99,
In Italy (Sicily) rabbit hunt using ferret is very popular. Wink

If you stay on a little dog (Jagterrier for example) you will not have big troubles here in Italy.

I need some day to be free from a demanding activity, and then I'll give you a detailed description of my hunt in Namibia with KSH.

bye

Ferrets are good for my self discipline....I have 3 and they eat a rabbit 365 days a year.. I have to provide one rabbit every day of the year so I use a .22 every day; gets you out with a gun most days!

They are kind of fun to have around if you can get used to the odor.

They are smarter than any cat, and more fun than a dog. The damn things have fun all the time.
