Just back from hunting moose... shot a yearling, thirty meters away, running like a steamtrain. hit him once with my 9,3x62 and he fell like a sack of potatoes. The bullet had entered in front of the left foreleg and exited through the joint of the shoulder and right foreleg. Not a perfect hit but it did the job. I used the 250 grain Nosler Ballistic tip loaded in front of some Norma 203-B to make it clock around 2600fps.

Good one. I guess it's hunting season just about everywhere now. What daytime temperatures do you get now in northern Sweden?

I live in the middle of Sweden, and here it`s a bit warm for the season right now. Today it is 10 Celsius/50 Fahrenheit but it should be around 0 Celsius/32 Fahrenheit.
Up north it`s colder I guess.

Regards
Peter

Yeah, I thought it was near Sundsvall but I did have to check a map. It is funny though hearing it referred to as "Northern Sweden", it seems to me the real Northern Sweden is near Pitea or Jokkmokk.....How are you doing Stefan? Doing any good hunting?

Tombo.

Im just fine, thanks! How have you done this seson?

I have had a good hunting seson so far. I got 4 moose this year and 10 roedeers so Im quite happy. The freezer is jammed with venison

We have a good year for birds as well this year. Ill put in some time on the black grouse and cappercaleigh in the next couple of weeks. We have som snow now so the contitions for birdhunting on skies with a rifle is good!

rnskldsvik is about 160 km north of Sundsvall.

Most of Swedens population is living in the south and to most people northern Sweden starts just north of Arlanda, the big airport just north of Stockholm
