"To put a lethal weapon in the hands of a child is in our view a grossly irresponsible act. To teach a child to shoot to kill is in our view a grossly irresponsible act. To teach a child to shoot vermin presumes that the child can practice their shooting skills on live targets. This leads to the child being taught that cruelty and unnecessary suffering caused by wounding while training is acceptable if the target animal is classed as vermin. Most parents will be horrified by today's story about children with guns being taught to kill for fun. While the bloodsports lobby may want to train up a load of little killers, most parents will have more sense and will keep their children well away from guns and from killing for fun." see here Good old Douglas Bachelor. Always good for a laugh. Mad as a boxes of frogs! What say you?

What's there to say, he's entitled to his rubbish opinion... Enjoyed the piece about Victoria.

He may be entitled to his opinion but I don't recall seeing any comment about the ruddy duck cull or the Arran (?) hedgehog cull. So maybe we need to raise those questions with LACS and ask them to condemn ALL "killing for sport"? Not just the "sport" of shooting but the "sport" of bird watching. There is always more than one way to kill a cat. So if you've the chance put him on the spot that way. Or is some "killing for sport" OK depending on what the "sport" is?
