Got my first pig on Thursday night! Smiler
Under the expert guidance of John DM and Gerry Merry, my mate Mark and I went out and shot my first pig.dancing
A very enjoyable couple of days/nights enjoying the hospitality of John and his better half. A great introduction to wild boar, I did"nt appreciate how big and solid they are until I saw them up close.
My thanks again to John and his Mrs, and to Gerry.
good shooting

Mighty pig Brass. cheers

That's a bit bigger than the two combined I have shot to date. Nothing like a slug in the ear to switch them off.....

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

Gentlemen, why don't you call them boars instead of pigs?

P.S. nice boar, Brass thief!

Because boar in English is the term for referring to a male pig. There is no specific name for wild pigs (like cinghiale) but for some reason it had become common place to describe wild pigs as "boars" which is really quite stupid.

BT,

Thanks for sharing and great job.

I don't know why but I seem to get this hankering to reach forr the .308 every time I see Piggie Piccies!!

The official party line is that we have them in our area but I haven't a clue where as I've never seen one.

Rgds,

Brass

it was a pleasure to meet you and take you out on the Boar. Have you dried out yet?

Excellent fun and they never cease to get the juices going.

Live weight or dressed?? The way John describes weighing it, it sounds like the "day after" - and so I assume: dressed weight. But when I look at piggie, it looks like a 50 kg size (dressed) to me. So what is it, dressed or live weight??
