Is she moving to Northern Ireland or the Rep of Ireland? if she is moving to the Rep then she will not be bringing her handguns as the import of them has been stopped. if it is Northern Ireland then she will have to join a club and will have to a years probation before her permit will be granted, same goes for her rifles, if any of the rifles are over .30 cal then she will have a hard time getting them on a permint, only a gun dealer can bring the guns into the country, and then will have to do the papper work for her as if she was buying the guns from them. to be honest unless she has something really nice I wouldn't bother bringing them and just buy new guns when she gets here. hopes this helps

308 Thanks for you quick reply. She is in fact moving to the ROI. These are "antique" firearms that used to belong to her Father, he is now deceased. I have not seen these firearms nor do I want to. I just figgured this was gonna be more trouble than it was worth. And was trying to find out what the song an dance, so to speak, was. Again, thank you. Jim

Yuo could direct any queries to An Garda Siochana,Firearms Policy Unit,Garda Headquarters,Phoenix Park,Dublin,Ireland. Or www.garda.ie However I think as 308mate said antique pistols will run into a problem.flintlock muzzleloaders maybe.I wouldnt hold my breath trying to import anything else.

at the moment we are going through a nightmare of a new firearm licencing system. pistol licening is a big problem ,you would be best to import them through a RFD . if you like to pm me i will put you in contact with one .
