One big reason is that it's not a 26B  Get ahold of Jim Parko and go to Gleichamberg, well worth your time. Lots of options for under $1000. All the weird caliber ones are cheap. Basically anything with ammo more than 80 euro a box and it drops the price in half. I had never handled one before, my fat face doesn't fit the stock (too much drop), but I can fix that. | |||

it fitted me great, the wood was nice, the barrel was a Krupp but after some uses i found out that the model was not for me and if you find it for the right price ... there is one guy i know trying to sell one in 8x68s with ammo for $2500 cad ... even left hand it may take a while before selling it even at $1000 ... | |||

Funny there is a Sauer 90 in 8x68s here with a EAW mount and a Germanic 3-12x56 for 2500 Euros, it is at Frankonia. Nice rifle, but they have not made Sauer 90's in a lot of years. Like your friends rifle, I think they will have it for a while. | |||

I've had both Heym SR20 and Mauser 2000. They were both made by Heym. The Mauser was for the export market and had a 'Weatherby' style stock and the Heym had a more Germanic stock style and better sights etc. Both are basically the same except for trimmings and styling differences. The Heym I had wore steel bottom metal vs alloy for the Mauser. | |||

Less than 1000 euros unless they have some brand new 30mm Germanic scope on them. The majority of them have an older 30mm 3-12x56 1-6x42 or something in that range. Still very nice, and a hell of a value. The nicest one I have seen lately looked new it was a 6,5x68S and it was $1450 with a Schmidt Bender Zenith. | |||

Very nice rifles. I have had my 243 heym sr20 since 1996. I have zeroed it 3 times - when I have changed scopes, otherwise it's point and squeeze trigger, roe buck falls over. Beautifully made and its still in very good condition. | |||

In Oz ? Heym rifles are rare here and used examples tend to go go for AUD2500+, depending on calibre and spec. Mauser 2000's can go for significantly less, as most don't know the heritage. Those push feed Mausers can be a good buy if they haven't been abused. | |||
