I was visiting the Blaser web-site and found a video done by Blaser called "Shooting At Running Game" but when I checked with my local Blaser dealer I was told it's only available in Europe. As anyone watched this video? If so, what do you think of it? If you haven't actually watched it have you seen it for sale? Do you recall what it cost? I'm thinking this might be a good video for me to watch as I'll doing my 1st driven boar hunt this November with the AR group hunt. I know the CD will be "coded" for the European market but I have acess to a CD player that will play Europen coded CD's. And, are there any other CD's you can think of that would be intereting and/or educational to buy in the way of prep for the hunt? DB Bill aka Bill George

See if you can view the link DB Bill, I think this is the one you're thinking of. If so, yes, I've seen it and it is very much worth your view, especially on ricochets, as drive hunts are close quarters so you must be very conscious of what shots are not only stupid, but dangerous to take. When I see those I give wide birth and normally try to keep a tree to shield myself handy! I don't know the cost, but guess around 30- Euro, the site states available at specialized Blaser dealers, Waidmannsheil, Dom. =596&tx_ttnews[backPid]=550&cHash=16e94c0ea2]Shooting at moving Game -------- There are those who only reload so they can shoot, and then there are those who only shoot so they can reload. If you have the opportunity to hunt rabbits, shoot them on the run with a .22 LR. That's about the same and would constitute an excellent training. And, true enough, Dom's safety advice apply in both cases. You may not shoot into the driven wood parcel (where beaters and dogs circulate !) but only outside of a 30° angle (= 5 steps parallel + 3 steps at right angle). André DRSS --------- 3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact. 5 shots are a group.

Hi, the BSRC at Bisley has excelent running game practice facilities both boar and deer. Check out their web-site and contact the club chairman and olympic medal winner John Kynoch for expert tuition if required. Regards.

I'd love to visit Bisley but I live in "sunny Southern California" about 6,500 miles and 8 time zones away. DB Bill aka Bill George

After I get my Orange Blaser Driven Boar cap and watch the "Shooting Driven Game" CD you gents better be "on your game" when I get there and hit the ground running. I hope the above doesn't come under the heading of Famous Last Words. DB Bill aka Bill George

Bill- do you have access to a bit of land to go shooting at? Does it have a road that has a bit of slope to it? Besides the idea about shooting full choked at the running rabbit at the range that I read about, an old tire, a slope, a piece of cardboard and a friend is a good way to train a bit on the running/rolling game of tire shooting. I have found that this is great way to practice at "running" game, especially when the slots at the running boar/moose/deer range are all taken and the ranges is packed, that is the time to go out to the hunting grounds and do a bit of shooting.
