Hello All, I've got a call from the Taxidermist in RSA today and my trophies should be with me in the next couple of months. In the package I have a thick tanned Eland back skin made to stiff leather which I was hoping to get made into a cartridge bag or three. I also have 5-6 leather tanned warthog skins that I don't really know what to do with. Does anyone know of a good leather goods maker that I can get the cartridge bags ade with? Also, any ideas on what I can uuse the piggies for? regards, FB

Dear FB If you PM Shakari on this site he will put you in touch with a chap in SA who makes all sorts of leather goods. I had a Kudu skin rifle slip made and with my other back skins a Waterbuck leather Gladstone bag and impala lining on a pair of buffalo hunting boots. Regards Mark Hunting is getting as close as you can, shooting is getting as far away as possible.

Thanks Mark, I was hoping to get them done here to avoid an extra weight for my trophies or doubling up on freight charges. I'll drop Steve a message and see if he can suggest something as I'm sure it will be cheaper than getting someone to do it over here. Thanks FB

Dear FB I had the backskin made into the rifle slip and then put in the box with the other trophies so the shipping weight was actually reduced. Regards Mark Hunting is getting as close as you can, shooting is getting as far away as possible.

The best places to have goods made out of the leather is often the taxidermist in Africa. Also cheaper labour. Gun slips/bags are another idea.
