This Christmas, I received the gift of Cerakote - a friend has started up a specialist coating business, mostly for military kit and Section 5 hardware, but he offered to spruce up a couple of hunting rifles for me. Unfortunately this has been a bit of a slippery slope and I'm gradually getting almost every metallic item in my life Cerakoted with the indestructable ceramic wonder stuff.

Apart from the aforementioned couple of rifles (plus scopes, moderators, rings and bottom metal/mags), I have also had my Suunto watch coated, some knives, all of the metal components - buckles, zipper tabs, sling QRs etc - on my hunting kit and I'm stripping all of my Harris bipods down to get them coated too. Essentially any metal part that is prone to finish wear or rust.

Tragic but true.

I also got socks.
