.

Received a text today from a Hungarian outfitter that Hungary is now open to foreign / visiting hunters!

Looking at a mouflon hunt in November. Self drive Germany down to Hungary and then up to the Mátra Mountains north of Budapest.

Could be fun. Two months out. We will see.

Economy wise is Hunting in Hungary a Big Factor and has therefore a Good Lobby.

I had heard the same thing as Sam.

Unfortunate.

I think the Czech is open.

Problem with traveling to Europe for Americans
Unless you are either citizen of any EU country or have working permit, they will turn you back
I’m here now and it’s a mess off and on again
Panic is returning

The problem for most is every country you visit your have to quarantine for 2 weeks either side and no one will do that. Some lime hungary have also closed borders and unless you have a business reason with proof you need to go then your turned away at passport control after landing. At present for example from the U.K. we can go to only Denmark, Germany, Italy, Poland and Spain I believe freely. Others require two negative Covid tests and quarantine etc or point blank won’t let you in.
Sad stage of affairs but guess we can’t do anything about it till this blows over.

Well put (can't do anything ....) And the risk level from this virus isn't going to change anytime soon. Next spring should be better for travel providing the inoculations proceed as forecast and are as effective as suggested.
I'm thinking about a fallow deer hunt next year 'cross the pond.
