I'm looking to book some quality stag hunting for later this year. For this trip I want good size and very good accommodation as my wife will be coming with me.

I know Bulgaria produces some huge stags, but this varies depending on region and I have heard a number of cautionary tales about hunters being ripped off.

As long as it is in Europe I don't mind where I go. It's all about the quality of the stags and experience. Any help or suggestions, especially from first-hand experience great fully received Smiler

Euston Estate in Suffolk can't be beaten for quality of free range stags over their 11,000 acres. Expert guide and very selective of stags they shoot. Nice Muntjac there too, along with some very nice local accomadation.

Fenced stags in UK parks are generally in 350+ acres, some upto 3000 acres. Prices circa £140 point plus daily rate for good quality mature stags. Gunton Park would be my reccomendation for that.

I was in Bulgaria (Apriltzi) last year and despite a quite late and running out of time too rut I managed to get a reasonable stag. But I would not hesitate to go again and accomodation was also very good.

dorsethunter, how's the stalking on Euston Estate? I really would not enjoy taking park deer or anything other than a totally wild beast.

Romania also have some high quality red stag, totally wild, not to mention that you and your wife can visit a lot of beatiful places like Dracula Castel or Sighisoara medival town.

Maximus,

As Dorset hunter says, stags on Euston would be your best bet in the UK, in fact its the only place I would recommend.

You may pay a little more for your trophy than in other places in Europe however the experience will be first class from what I have heard.

Regards

Alex

Totally free range, unfenced. Top quality stalking and excellent results year on year.

I've been told Euston is booked up for the next 3 years. In any case I'll be using my 9.3x62 which I'm sure the UK Police will not approve of for hunting deer. When I was living in the UK I had a real battle getting authority to purchase.

So, I've booked a week with Bulgarian Hunt Services in September. Hopefully I'll get myself a nice stag or two Smiler
