Took Millwall Paul out for a walk in the woods the other day.
This is his first muntjac, ever..........

Not a bad start. Very old beast that stood its ground. Hung around too long after first spotting us, the temptation of the Butillo squeaking was too much.

Butillo squeaker huh? You reckon that´s the same one we get here in Germany for Roe Deer, or is this one a special one for Muntjacks?

Congrats

I've had one of those Buttolo squeakers pull a young munty buck within 10m of the highseat.

Regards

Mark

Hunting is getting as close as you can, shooting is getting as far away as possible.

Murkan Mike

It's exactly the same unit - fortunately it will bring the bucks and does in at the run.

Very interested to hear that the butallo works outside of the roe rut for muntjac. Historicaly I have stuck to that month from mid July to mid August for fear of educating the roe but there are certain places where the roe are few enough that it would be worth attracting muntjac.

Any months or weather conditions it doesn't work?

Usual calling rules apply - low/no wind allows the call to be heard over the maximum area.

Start squeaking quietly then increase volume later. Check BEHIND the stand as well - I have seen fresh slots TOO many times on climbing down from a high seat!!

Have not noticed any set season - which matches up with Munties consistent breeding drive.
