the culling round here has probably doubled in recent months, mainly thanks to the increased price of venison.

seems any one with a 4x4, lamp ,dog and any old musket has been out helping to thin out the population.

Indeed, I don't know where they get the figure of 350,000 deer culled annually. There must be just as many taken 'unofficially'.
