Hi folks,

I haven't posted here for a while, as I've been a bit busy of late! Smiler
I've also posted this to AR knife forum, but thought some of you that know me here, might be interested. Wink

I started investigating firearms engraving a few years back, being lucky enough to get some initial direction from one of the very best engravers in the world. Within a short space of time I also discovered scrimshaw and was soon seduced to the 'dark side'! Big Grin
Since that day, I have been producing scrimshaw, embellishing everything from pistol grips to knife scales.

I'll have a stand at the UK knife show this year, where I'll be demonstrating some of the techniques, so please do drop by and say hello if you're in the area!

Although I am in no way a knife maker, I've always had a desire to give it a go!
So, here's my first attempt...

Of course, then it looked a bit naked... Roll Eyes

And now... it just looks nude! Big Grin

All the best,

Jo Smiler

Very nice Jo, the chap looks more Greco-Roman in countenance than Somersetonian.

Where is the knife show being held this year?

A nice bit of work Jo. The blade was just calling out for something equally strong and dramatic.

If she makes a lanyard hole there is a slight risk that the engraved figure might loose something precious, looking at where the hole would need to be....

Thanks Kiri,

Hows about this one then...?

Apologies for photos... one day I will learn to use my camera properly!

I'm hoping that as this is art, it doesn't break any forum rules.

And then both...

Medusa and Hercules, or more correctly Herakles, I assume.

I would have put money on that chap being Greek, in any event.

Although not to my taste, those are two truly stunning pieces of work. You are incredibly talented!

I doubt she's greek mate, it's obviously a bit cold where she lives.

Mate, when I use the word "chap" and you then refer to him in the feminine, ie "she".....

Well.

The prosecution rests, M'lud.

My shampoo used to do that....so I changed it to another brand and all my hair fell out!

Very nice work Jo. I was trying to think, after Ghubert's comment about rivet position on the male figure whether you'd worked backwards from the rivet position on the female?
