Do only Swedes drink Julmust or is it available in all of Scandanavia?

I bought 4 cases of it in Spain at Ikea last year and shipped most of it home to my father. We took it hunting with us and most of the other hunters liked it better than Coke, Pepsi, Dr Pepper, or anything else.

It's nice because it's not as sweet.

Anyway, nice to have it to drink hunting or not.

I was hoping our Sicilian Ikea would open before the end of the year so they would have some. Next fall I plan on stocking up for the next 12 months.

Julmust was invented as an alternative to alcoholic drinks. Julmust is the biggest selling soft drink during Jul, even Coca Cola Company had to jump on the wagon since sale of other soft drinks drops down to near nothing during Jul

There is second chance, same brew is sold during Easter labelled as "PÃ¥skmust" Must can be aged provided it is stored in a glass bottle.

Is it Apple or Peach hard cider?

If it is I used to go through cases of it in Spain. I would drive 150K to Seville from the coast just to buy it and Julmust.

If it's the stuff I am thinking of it's got a nice vanilla after taste with the fruit.

I have to admit that I've never seen "Julmust" here in Norway, and am actually not really sure what it is. Maybe Johan can explain to me?

Julmust is a malt flavored cola type drink. It is not as sweet as a Coke. It has a nice earthy malted flavor. I love it, I would drink it year round if I could find it.

In the states it is available year round. Someone bought the rights to make it. You have to go to Swedish food stores on the net to find it. I sent my parents a couple cases before I headed home.

I must admit that I do not go to Sweden very often for shopping!

However, next time I am in Sweden, I'll try to remember to buy some of this "Must". It sounds like it might be something close to our "Vørterøl"? A malt drink without alcohol.

Sure, vørterøl is similar to Julmust. However, in my opinion Swedish Julmust is better

An American company already has the rights to bottle in in America. They get the big boxes of the liquid mix and pump it into a machine with carbonated water. Then bottle it and sell it for $1.80 a bottle.

Kind of an expensive thing to drink in America.

In Finland we have something called "svagdricka" that you can make yourself from a packet-a kind of non-alcholic traditional beer. Mixing this with a softdrink should approximate julmust.
