Hello all.

Scotland and England, we hear a lot about trips there, to the main land.
But, how are the more "forgotten" isle for a trip?
Isle of Man, Hull, Arran, Skye and Hebrides and more to.

I am planning a trip next year, and all tip/help is good. Never hunted in UK, but next year I will go.
Not just for the hunting, but also to visit these Isle and to taste the local food, beer Smiler and try some hunting.

Thanks for looking

Cheers all

Get in touch with Stu_C of these forums.

He might be an Ozzie, but he's a damn fine one who lives in Switzerland and has hunted a little in the UK.

As far as outfitters go try Athina Hunting tours, Fallowbuck of these forums runs it, and ask him to sort you out a package.

Finally pm me when if you come in via London and we'll do the local beer thing with the boys.

Regards,

Amir

PS. Ignore Boghossian's advice on beer, he's Belgian.... Eeker

The Western Isles are fantastic! I went a few years back now and the locals, scenery, food and hunting was very good. Always said I would go back in Summer to go fishing or just relax but sadly never have.

Saw loads of Red deer there, and suggest you contact North Uist Estate.

Contact George Macdonald on +44 01876 500329.

Vegard-Dino,

When you get here, you are more than welcome to come and stalk on my ground in Argyll - there's nothing quite like stalking along the edge of a deserted beach on the edge of Loch Fyne, looking out to the Isle of Arran... plenty of Red deer on the hill and in the forest and some very nice Roe deer too.

For one reason or another, I haven't been up there nearly as often as I should this year, so it would be good to have an excuse for a few more trips. The accommodation is a bit primitive but the breakfast is good.

Vegard, I remember we had lot of difficulties with the firearms in the Heathrow airport. Maybe is better you go directly to Edimburgh.

Mario,

With the correct paperwork and visitors firearms permit it should be very easy to travel through Heathrow.

The problems occur when the carrier airline doesn't have authority to transport firearms within the airport as happened to me with Iberia a few years back.

We travelled through with Virgin a couple of months ago and it was a piece of cake. The guns arrived before the rest of our luggage!!
