Went out this evening basically just to see what was about on a strip of woodland that I haven't been on for a while. The woodland is about 1 mile long and 150yds wide, we had to do a big loop becuase of the wind, we arrived at where we wanted to be, and sat down to enjoy the view, my better half spotted almost immediately a yearling doe being pursued by a large one antlered buck. He continued to chase her for at least half an hour,, it wasn't just a canter but break neck speed,he actually ran past me quite close totally oblivious to the three of us. Foam was coming out of his mouth and you could see he was covered in sweat. This continued until they both ran out of steam and then just collapsed on the floor,I could of shot him but I think the meat would of been tainted with adrenaline.. I have seen them chase each other many a time but never to the point of exhaustion. Time to buy a video camera. regards griff

Griff, Pop up to Craig.... and sit on the large mound, in the middle of the large circular clearing. During the late evening i sit there and watch them run round in circles for ages. Totally oblivious to my presence.

Some years ago, I shot a single antlered "killer" stag in Scotland (see last one, right) : The estate stalkers had nicknamed him "the Unicorn" and were after him since weeks after he stabbed to death another nice stag. By luck, we spotted him during our hunt and the head-stalker asked me to shoot him "on the house". André DRSS --------- 3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact. 5 shots are a group.
