Having attended the CLA Game Fair, the Scottish Game Fair, the Festival of Hunting and a good number of the large agricultural shows. We felt that we'd like to spread our wings a bit and try something different.

Any one know of good game fairs/hunting shows in France, Germany, Belgium.

The biggest Fairs in Europe are in Dortmund with Jagd und Hund and Hohe Jagd Show in Salzburg. Both are similar Dortmund is bigger and Salzburg has more Flair IMO

The other one I know of is the Salon de la Chasse Rambouillet. When I went about 5 years ago it was held in either Jan or Feb.

I haven't been to any other mainland European game fairs or shows, so I don't have anything much to compare it to. But if I had the chance I would definitely go again.

Unfortunately none of those fit in with our schedule. Plus I'd rather attend something that uses an out side venue rather than an exhibition hall or marque. Being an old counrty lad I get a bit claustrophobic in big crowds enclosed in buildings or arenas.

I've a standing invite to IWA but the thought of 2 days in those crowds just does't appeal.

I'm just back from the Southern side by side in North Carolina and that was a gun nuts paradise. Outdoors with a bunch of exhibitors and lots of shooting available.

It was a shame the food was very poor on site but BLT's from the hotel sorted that out.

It's not in the geography you mentioned but worth a look.
