Hey Guys

Anyone hunt in Hugary with Diana Hunts? I am looking at a stag/boar/fallow deer/mouflon hunt. Good price, easy connection.

Any feedback would be appreciated on the outfitter or hunting in Hungary in general.

It is past the rut, but the season now is 'outshot" season- presumably game management hunting.

Thank you

...duno about Diana tho some things about hunting in Hungary. Its mainly flat country with old oak tree forests mixed with agricultural land of corn fields and some swamp land...Hungary has the best quality stags (from 9 last WR, 5 were taken in Hungary)... there are discounted hunts (-15%) since the rut is over - it means you can get 3 day hunt on stag of 160 CIC pts. all inclusive (without flight to Hungary) for 750 E, hind or calf tag is 40 E ...the fallow deer and mouflon hunting can be well combined since those two species mainly appear together - in Hungary they dont estimate the mouflon horns by CIC pts. but to the horn length - trophy fee is up from 250 E and you can also hunt boar by waiting in the tree stands by night or by driven hunts during the day...

Wink

live4,

I've booked previously with Diana and have been satisfied with their preparation and follow-up. I guess that is a reasonable recommendation.

They offer good value and service in their established countries/operations/outfitters and Hungary is one of them.

I've hunted Hungary one time, for Wild Boar although not with Diana. Our party had a good time, almost everyone was successful and the Hungarians were great hosts completely dedicated to providing our hunting expectations.

Having said that and also never hunted antlered game in Hungary; my feedback from others who have is that the watch-outs are the following:
1. Trophy size.
2. Trophy cost.
3. Trophies measured and re-measured (countless times) to ensure every potential remuneration was obtained.

They related that when on all-inclusive hunts the agreed trophy size was normally met but almost always more expensive trpohies were offered. Also that when trophy size exceeded agreed expectations it got $$$ in a hurry.

If you've been offered a cull for lesser trophies after the rut, this is probably a great deal, just be sure there are no surprises at the end.

Cheers,
