Griff,

I can't say what the MV / ME of my 25-06 is at 350 as I haven't checked. However, I can say that It kills just as well at that range as it does at 100 (on Roe anyway). If what is written in other forums is to be believed then my chosen calibre would be sufficient to 600. I wouldn't feel confident at that range myself and only reach out when I can be absolutely sure of shot placement, i.e. have steady rest and there is no wind.
Not recommended by BDS though!

thanks Andy
I too have the venerable 25-06 and was curious as what others thought on this subject.
I have the sierra ballistics program, I can't remember the exact figure but the 25 has more energy at 500 than the 223 at 100, which is more than sufficient for roe, but was unsure about reds.
I have just re-acquired my savavge bvss112 in 25-06 and will be using it for just that, it has the ultimate sniper stock from Choate, topped of with a mk4 leupold mil-dot,T8 reflex, rifle basix trigger, shoots very well, it shot well before its transformation, but this has just tidied up the occasional flier.
