Sometimes you get very, very lucky as I did on the Klagenfurt area chamois hunt. We returned today (Dec 15) after spending 2 1/2 days hunting, some touring, and then a couple of days in Vienna. This hunt was purchased at this year's
Safari Club convention and sponsored by Johann
Fanzoj, who is an internationally known custom firearm builder from Ferlach, Austria. On the second full day of hunting, I was able to take, what I have been told is an exceptional, one of a lifetime trophy. That trophy is an eleven (11) year old chamois. Johann said in his 40+ years (and 25+ chamois) of chamois hunting, he had not taken a chamois to equal mine. The weather cooperated, and instead of what I understand can be lots of snow and sometimes ice in December, we only had a dusting of snow each day. Sometimes, everything just goes right!

good job, and happy to hear that you have been helped by weather.
I had to renounce to hunt on Saturday, because is prohibited to hunt when there is more than 50% of a hunting area covered by snow. [Frown]
OOOhh well more bars for the next time. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Collani, dove posso trovare un calcio da caccia per il K31, senza dover fare il lavoro che hai fatto tu? Magari anche in sintetico.
bye

@Steve

My gun smith probably has one of the K31 stocks. Ill give today a phone call and ask him about the price for that stock. It looks like a simple Mauser M98 hunting stock. nothing special. The price could be around Euro 300.

Good shooting and good hunting

Waidmannsheil!

I shot an 11 year old Gamsbock this year, with a mediocre trophy. But he has fantastic colouring scheme and I have him half-mounted.

Some of my Gamsgaissen ( females ) are 13, 13+, 18+, ... and have fabulous "Krucken". Still its the experience that matters.

Hope you enjoyed your visit to Vienna, too. Please post pics.
