Thanks for the reply.

I don't mind looking like "Pancho Villa". I have a culling belt that holds 20 .450 No.2 Nitro Express's and that is impressive. For that elephant cull - one day .

I will be importing a good deal of cases soon from Europe so it shouldn't a problem. I usually plan on a minimum of a couple hundred for every calibre.

If I purchased a 6.5x68 it would get a lot of use so the barrel would eventually need replacement. That's what pays for a high velocity calibre.

If it can handle the bullet range of 90 grs to 127 grs this would be OK as I probably would standardise on a aprox 100 gr and a 120 or 125 gr projectile anyway. If more is needed the 8mm would come out.

A 8mm would recoil but when the action is hot you don't notice it but you do notice carrying a heavy rifle up and down mountains all day.

The attraction of a single shot is definitely increasing.

I myself toyed with the idea of a 6.5x68R but for me who has never taken a shot over 300m it was overkill.

The K95 is fine away from a highseat. It is particularly well suited to prone shooting over a pack. I find it no problem to shoot from sitting or kneeling but it either takes longer or I have to get closer for standing shots off sticks. This is hardly surprising with a 6.5lb rifle vs a 9lb one and I do not begrudge it as it is likely due to me in no small part. I also find that my average with it is higher - due I think to being a tiny bit more careful through not having that 2nd rapid shot.

On Saturday I shot a roebuck at 260yds prone over my pack - it was steady as a rock.
