I lived in Andalucía near Cadiz about 11 years ago for a couple years. My wife also happened to go to college in Andalucía and we both like it there. How is Jerez de Frontera, Cadiz, Rota and Porta de Santa Maria these days for a place to live? Applied for a job there, odds aren't great but I'd love to go back to my old stomping grounds. Looks like Spanish rule of 5 rifles, 5 shotguns, 5 air rifles and 1 pistol still applies. I'd probably bring about half that, an buy locally anything I couldn't do without. We'd be there 5 years. Anyone live in that area recently?

As good as allways and with the current crisis will be cheaper than it used to be. If you come give me a call and we will make a plan for a beer or to and talk about hunting diego

It will take them a few months to get around to hiring someone, if I end up back over there I'll hopefully be able to get a hunting license. Shouldn't be a problem to get a firearms permit as I had one last time I lived there for my 9.3x74R and shotgun. Do I need a hunting license for paid hunts like those booked through an outfitter or just for local small game hunts?

Yes each province (state) has its own hunting license. Many of them require taking classes and a test... BUT if you do a little searching you can find a province that will give you a license based on having a license in another state/country... and then the other province MAY reciprocate and give you a license in the province you want. For example a couple years ago I hunted in Extremadura and Avila (Gredos). Castille y Leon license was very easy to acquire but Extremadura was more tricky. I found that Navarra would accept my California hunting license as a subsitute for the testing, and they issued me a license. THEN since I had a Navarra license, Extremadura hooked me up with a license no problem. So in the end I think I had 4 different licenses without having to take any tests. I took care of most of it online and via email. Never lived in Andalucia, but have lots of family in Extremadura. Looking to buy a place out there in the near future, love it.

I spent money I should have spent on Ibex in 2005 on Africa and Spanish women. My priorities are going to be ibex, ibex and ibex if we get to move back.
