Hello all, Does anyone happen to own or know the whereabouts of a Norica 3 shot bolt action 410? I'm looking for a single barreled 410 to shoot squidgles and other vermin with around the pheasant pen. It needs to be single barreled so I can moderate it, and I would like the chance of a multiple shot gun. Given the record this year was 5 shots at one squirrel with a 12 bore I figure I need all the help I can!! If anyone has one for sale could you send me a PM pls. Thanks, FB

Yo FB, I'm not too up to date on the UK gun laws and don't know if this would qualify - but I know where there is a Mossberg 500 .410 Pump Action shotgun that is in better than mint condition because it is brand new. It is a single barrel, no rib, awaiting a new home, for a very reasonable price! Cheers, Gerry PS Do those "squidgles" have any size to them, I mean like big antlers or other desireable trophy - or do you just shoot them for the meat? Cheers, Number 10

Hey Gerry, It's pure revenge where the Squidgells are concerned. they have a habit of eating the grain out of my pheasant feeders. this in itself I don't mind to much as I like to think I'm quite amiable in that respect. Where I get nasty with them is that they seeem to think they can eat the feeders themselves too!!! Personally I don't thhink that kind of behhaviour is exactly "cricket" so I'm looking for some payback!! As for the Pump, I am allowed to own one provided it is a maximum of three shot, but would probably prefer the B/A. Is the gun in the UK or with you in Frankfurt? Regards, FB

Fallow Buck, Them pesky squeals (as my 8yr old calls them) finish the grain far too quickly. I wonder how close you will have to get to reliably kill one with a 410? Like you I find they soak up both barrels or more of 12bore medicine. Best of all is 30gr Berger MEF at around 4,300fps - carcass disposal not required!

I did give one some 308 therapy a few weeks back out of sheer frustration... I can't believe the holes they eat out of the feeders!! Anyway as you say the Sauewr did a pretty good job of both killing it and dressing it out!! I rekon you could kill one out to 20yds with a 3" .410 of 5's. Most of the time they are fairly close range when I want to get at them, which coincides with pheasant release time. I could probably get under 10yds. I actually had two sat in an aok tree last autumn, while I was in a high seat. They were eating acoprns on a branch above me and dropping the shells on me!!! The cowards wwouldn't ccome down onto the ground aqnd give me a back stop... Rgds, FB

i was asking a local gun dealer the same question(single barrel .410 for moderator) about a year ago, so he showed me a second hand hushpower fully moderated 3" .410. i bought it, and it is possibly the most useful shotgun i have ever owned. i shoot crows as they flight over my house in the evnings, i have sold my air rifle as the hushpower has made it obselete for summer rabbit shooting, and as it folds it is a handy all round working gun. i would recommend having a look at one for your job. good shooting

Hey Brass Theif, The system I want to put on is the hushpower. The thing is that I would like the chance of multiple shots. I thought I had found the Norica yesterday but it had gone before I could grab it. I did however manage to get hold of the anschutz 22 that I have been after so happy there. FB
