Gentlemen,

I shall be grateful if you could suggest me a place or two in Scotland and/or Wales where I can get some deer stalking.I cannot afford an expensive hunt and I do not have an FAC.Not looking for a trophy stag but a great experience. If you would like to,please PM me.Many thanks in advance.

Best-
Locksley,R

Although Wales has four species of deer present they are generally thin on the ground and there is not much stalking available to the public or paying rifle. Your best bet is Scotland where you have a choice of red deer on the open hill, or sika or roe mostly in or around forestry but some open hill as well. THere are also fallow but not widespread.

There is almost nowhere in Scotland that doesn't have some roe.

Without an FAC you will need to go out with a stalker and use the estate rifle. Your best bet for low cost stalking is to help with the hind cull in Jan or Feb and you might get a day for less than £100.
