May I answer? It's just a silly gun. If I want to reload fast, I'll get a semi-auto. If I want decent magazine capacity, I'll get a gun where the designers have not placed the mag above the trigger (jeezus...). If I want a gun that doesn't send the bolt through my face if I have an obstacle in the barrel, I'd buy just about anything but a Blaser. OK? /HerrBerg

Johan, I noticed your negative opinion of the R93. What problems did you have. I just got a new one in 6.5x55.....JJ

I can understand everything you posted, although I may not agree that they are shortcomings. About the bolt, do you assume thats what will happen or do you know of shooters that have been injured or killed ? Thanks............JJ

JJ, Do a search on "R93 accidents" and you'll find some threads with info about just that. There was one here in Norway last year where a guy lost his eye. This is not hearsay, as his picture was in all the magazines over here. The question was, and still is since no conclusion has been announced, was it because of the ammo (reloaded too hot?), or was it a technical fault with the rifle itself? As far as I have understood, the (few) differant accidents have all been with "magnum" cartridges. I had a R93 in 375H&H, and although I personally never had any trouble, I sold it to buy a rifle with a Mauser M98 action instead. Which I prefer. But this has to do with several things like controlled feeding, and also my personal taste. Some people like the color blue and some like green. Some like Blasers, and some don't. Enjoy your new rifle, and have fun with it if it's what you like! Erik D.
