A little off topic, but anyways.. Anyone knows what the value would be for a original Sako L46 chambered for the little 7x33? It's numbered no 95 of the first 100 made in 1946.. Thanks for the replies guys! But I was too late. The rifle was already sold.. I love hunting capercaille and black grouse during winter time, and such a rifle would be a blast to take along.. Anyway I must start looking for antoher.. Anders Hunting and fishing DVDs from Mossing & Stubberud Media: www.jaktogfiskedvd.no ..and my blog at: http://andersmossing.blogspot.com

I thought that there were a few made in 1942? I'm lucky to own one in a walnut full stock rifle in very good condition for its age (1946). I have a good supply of factory loads, but would like to find appropriate 7mm bullets to reload in it.

I think they made some sivilian prototype in 1942, named the L42. But it was right after the WWII they started the "real" production and exporting of the L46.. Congrats on a fine rifle! Do you have any pictures? I really want one.. Anders Hunting and fishing DVDs from Mossing & Stubberud Media: www.jaktogfiskedvd.no ..and my blog at: http://andersmossing.blogspot.com

I'll take some photos and post them just for you, Anders! I have a fine old Weaver K-3 mounted on the gun in the proper Redfield mounts. The gun came to me with the rear sight frame intact, but the internal parts missing, which was about its only shortcoming; thus my dependence on the scope. I've been hesitant to burn up precious ammunition shooting at paper, but a three shot group goes into an inch and a half at 100 yards, which is about as good as one can expect with a low-powered scope and a course crosshair.
