As an American hunter I have always wanted to hunt in Europe. I am thinking the easiest and cheapest way to try it out would be maybe an English roe deer hunt? Does anyone know how I could go about such a trip, are there outfitters in England who would accomodate me on such a hunt and if so does anyone know what it would cost? Thanks in advance!

You could do a Polish roe deer hunt for E1500 for 3 deer or a similar hunt near London for similar money.

www.diana.dk is a good contact. Most American booking agencies don't cater to the cheaper roe deer hunts.

If your interested in hunting in Germany for about $150 a day you should talk to Gerry. He post as Gerry. I hunted with him in 2005 and had a hell of a good time.

He's an American who retired there. Good food, good company, and more deer than I would ever see in 2 weeks hunting in Wyoming or Montana.

Luke, you can hunt in every european state for circa the same money. Roedeer is quiet cheeper than a european deer or a chamois.
If you are looking for an easy-shot roedeer is one.... but if you are looking for a real european hunting experience, you need a real european hunter!!! archer
What do you think about hunting as guest with a hunter in his mountains????
This is living a hunting experience!!

Luke,
you are a hunter, and you know that in a real situation wenn you go hunt is the possibility that you sea nothing or that you can't shot... for many reasons.
My hunting season begins in March or April, without gun, only with binocular an photografic-machine.
I walk un and down in my moutain to look and to know chamois, what they do in the morning... what they do all the day.
But wenn I go to shot one there is the possibility that I don't sea anythink. Also in this case I'm happy why I'm in my mountain!!!
I say you this only why I'm a honest hunter.
If you like you can hunt with me next season.

Faina,

I wish you would have joined this forum 3 years ago when I moved to Italy. Now I am moving back to the states in January (next month).

We could have whacked a few Gams together.

I did a roe deer/red deer hunt in Scotland a few years ago. As long as you are hunting "hill stags" and not the pen raised ones, the red deer prices are reasonable.

I took my wife and after the hunt we toured Scotland and England for about 10 days. We had a fantastic time.

You've got me thinking, maybe I should start planning a return trip.

Yes MHO, it's my Remington 700 cal 30.06. This gun is like my best friend: when I need his ever ready!
I shot this photo in Val Bognanco, close to Switzerland, near to Domodossola.
I like to walk and hunt here.

Thanks Faina, beautiful place. I have never been in that valley, although I have passed through Domodossola on the train. The closest I have been on foot is probably in Macugnaga - many years ago for hiking.

Join the British Association for Shooting and Conservation. Then take part in their deer stalking for members schemes. You'll not get the cheapest price of any stalking in the UK but you will get a fair deal and not be "ripped off".

www.basc.org.uk

Details of the deer stalking is on the website above...or here:

http://www.basc.org.uk/content/deermanagementscheme

Look over to "Section Links" on the right. I do know that they have vacancies for the Isle of Arran scheme at this moment.
