He always said "It's good to talk"... and things have beena little quiet round here the last few days. So obviously everyone has been out shooting and should have a heap of stories to share... Wink

So anyway, I was out lamping last night in a bid to gget some country air into my lungs. Charlie and his other half popped their heads up in the first field I went into. He stopped at about 140yds and the 308 did the business while his mate mada a hasty exit.

It was the first time I'd used the illuminated reticule on the Swaro, and I really liked it even if it felt a little odd. I found myself concentrating more on the dot than the fox...

An hours lamping and on the way back to the yard and I said to the lamp man that we should go and see if Charlie #1's mate had come out again. As soon as we lamped the field he was out in the middle making a rapid exit. He slowed up just enough at my squeak to look back, and the orange filter was the last thing he saw. At about100-120 number two was in the bag.

A good night out in all, and definately beats goinng to a smoky city bar and paying £7 for a G+T!!

good shooting! i got one on sat with a AAA, and 2 SG, that cooled him right down.
my .243 has just gone your side of the water for threading. we"ve no decent riflesmiths here in NI.
i"ve got a 2nd hand T8 from a mate, can"t wait to introduce some foxes to my fav stalking round!
i"m going to ayrshire thu/fri/sat with the.308 for roe, and that"ll be the end of the season for me.
keep at those reynards!

FB, if you like the Swaro illuminated then try the Nightforce NP2DD illuminated reticule. I am going to swap the Swaro on my .243ack for another nightforce, and put the swaro on my 7mmremmag.

SWS,

Is that the Milidot reticule on that or am I getting muddled??

I'm looking for an IR scope to put on the .22, but don't want to spend Swaro money. The milidot looks a little fussy if you know what I mean. I would like a simple cross rather than the dot I have now. I'm happy to give upto around £150 for the right scope, preferably with a 50mm+ objective lens.

any suggestions?

Have a good look at the AGS range - though marketed for air rifles, I have used one on a .22lr and .308 with no problems at all - and the simple illum cross in centre of view has proved ideal.

Consistent rabbits at up to 120yds indicate paralax problems are not a real issue.

All in all - excellent value for money - and I will happily debate the value of light gathering lenses when used with a lamp! Smiler

Keep well.
