Over the years I have watched how the antis have attacked all form of our hunting and shooting across the globe and I have personally written and made calls to politicians and govt bodies voicing my favour towards hunting and shooting.

And for many years I have feared that the day will come when the UK fox hunting ban is expanded and extended to include wing shooting and then all forms of hunting. That day is now here.

There is currently a debate in the UK Parliament to ban driven grouse hunting, which has to be one of the most wonderful shotgunning experiences that can be enjoyed! Its a push that starts against driven grouse but if successful the next steps will be walked up grouse and then all UK bird shooting!

Todate the anti petition has 125.000 signatures and counting.

There is a petition to go before Parliament in early 2017 to protect grouse moors and grouse shooting, it currently stands at 24.000 signatures.

Can I please ask all AR shotgunners, wing shooters and hunters - wherever you may be - that read this to please take 4 minutes of your time and join the petition to protect UK grouse shooting! Whether you will every shoot grouse in the UK (and I really do hope that you will one day) or not, please support this petition as if it fails and the antis shut out driven grouse shooting then in a decade at most two there will be no live bird shooting in the United Kindom and that we as hunters and sportspeople cannot let happen !

I moderate an air gun website based in the UK. Even though I can't sign it I posted the link there and gathered a few more signatures. None of the members who signed were aware of the issue.

Politicians need to realise that the divisive rhetoric being used to campaign against grouse shooting is deeply unhelpful and not rooted in public support, and should back the efforts of conservationists and landowners to work together to secure the future of our upland economies, communities and ecosystems.”
