I can't imagine our hunting dogs getting such a bashing?????? or even in situation getting surprised this way.
But for sure retaliation would be hard and not stoppable.
I suppose this hound is a bloodhound working on his own and not eager to track and put at bay games as beat hunting hounds ever do.
I'd ashame should my dogs act this mildly.

What type of dog was it ?

A Deer hunting pointer type or a bailer ?
