JJ,

wild boar have become so plentiful in Germany over the last years that hardly anybody (from Germany) would pay for a wild boar hunt - in general every owner of a hunting area is glad for any support with hunting them.

The major hunting methods are:
1. sitting on a high-stand (mostly in nights with a bright moon - sometimes even from dawn to dusk ...) near a corn or maize field etc.
2. driven hunts - mainly in fall / winter with the help of dogs

In general, the hunting (tourism) industry is not very well established in Germany - some state forests now try to market their hunts more agressively, but that is mainly for red stag or driven hunts (where you can shot wildboar and female red / roe deer...)

Best regards,

Erik

JJ,

Here in my area of Texas we are about the same in regards to our hog hunting, I would not even think of paying someone here to shoot one. Most all of our public land around here is full of them and since only a few folks hunt them their are always plenty of them.

Why go into the woods to hunt them ? About a year ago I read about the large number of boars WITHIN the city of Berlin, eating peoples gardens !!
