As it happens I`m in the process of getting things sorted to go to Georgia.I work with a guy who comes from there and am going with him and his brother, but the slight language barrier is slowing things down a bit!! Should be a good weeks camping anyway.

All the very best with your trip.I look forward to your report.I heard so many good things about the richness of their culture, hospitality, elaborate Supras , landscapes etc. While I did read about hunting opportunities, not so well managed game numbers, endangered species etc make me a bit concerned.I hope and wish you will have a great time there.

Not a bad place at all.
When I used to transit Georgia alot, the Georgians where fighting the Russians, and Batumi wanted independance from Georgia so they were playing up as well, when we got through the border we had to drive 10k`s and wait on the side of the road for armed gaurds to escort us through Batumi, sometimes we`d wait and hour or 10,just parked in the middle of nowhere, and then, if the armed guard didn`t have alot of gas and we didn`t want to part with too many us $ they`d only take us 10 k`s ish Confused depended on how they were feeling I suppose, I think they were more worried than us drivers were

I am there at the moment, working just south of the Port of Poti , on the Black Sea coast, I'll make some enquiries over the next week about legislation and so on.

Thanks TIKKA that will be much appreciated.

The lack or lax? game laws are giving me a bit of a headache at the moment, as my work mate says "we not worry about these things)!!.

That's one of my concerns. On one hand I read about legal hunting being available and on the other I hear of rampant poaching and non-observation of game seasons.
