Sauer 202 barrels in the USA??

It seems as though the Sauer 202 line of rifles is no longer being imported to the USA. I would like to know if it is possible to buy a certain barrel and have it shipped to me or my FFL dealer.
I am thinking of the fluted, lightweight barrel in 6.5x55.

Could any of you help me with contact information for a company that sells Sauer 202 barrels?
Sorry, I speak no German.

Do you know of any aftermarket barrel makers who produce 202 barrels??

Thank you,
Bill

Your only chance is calling SIG in the US or finding a used one. No aftermarket barrels are avalible

Bill, as far as legality is concerned, it is possible for your FFL to import a barrel for you. If memory serves, the bureaucratic hurdles are not very high - something like your FFL can do occasional imports for his customers. I can't remember whether he needs a permit for the import, though??

As far as availability of Sauer barrels in Europe, I'm not up to date on the latest developments. I do know, however, that at least one AR member in Belgium recently ordered a .30-06 barrel, and apparently took delivery of it. So my guess is that barrels are orderable, and will be delivered with a delay of perhaps (guessing here) 3-6 months?

Correct, that was me and I had to wait 4 months to receive my .30-06 bbl. Inventory seems to be low or non-existant and most aftermarket bbls. are made to order.

Farmer Bill,

I have two options for you.

One a local German dealer with English capability who would love to get into the business of shipping Sauer 202 barrels to the States. His issue is an Import/Export FFL holder.

The second would be Franonia International (their English webpage).

Good Luck.

Don't quote me but I do believe the Sauer 200 barrels fit the 202. Might be easier to find, at one time I'm pretty sure the outfit below had the 200 barrels. Would be worth checking out anyway, Waidmannsheil, Dom.
