I hope to get just a few more before i call it quits i just about stop Deer stalking after the rut 15 -20 of August and let things settle before i start on the does in my sensitive areas on the 15 of september. I will need to work harder as my mate was out last night and put his own hunting knife right through his calf trying to open up the ribs. off work and stalking for at least 4 weeks. Becareful its easy done so they say.

After a forced truce of a month, consecutive to a very untimely fractured elbow, I have sufficiently progressed in my revalidation to handle a rifle, so that I could resume hunting last week (Roebucks are in full rut). The season being advanced, I gave priority to selection instead of trophies and was able to cull these 2 unpromising bucks :

BTW, having recently taken an additional new hunting lease in another area well populated with Wild boars, I switched from mt std. Roedeer 30-06 handload (165 Sierra GK) to a heavier 180 gn Norma Vulkan handload. Both bucks were shot with the latter and I was surprised by the rather violent expansion of the Vulkan on such light bodied game. I had expected smaller wounds from the Vulkan heavier and harder bullet.

---------

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

The vulcan is not valid for Roe deer Hunting, is a very devastion bullet thumbdown, better....sure for this Hunt one Nolser Partition or one bullet wit controllet expasion. tu2
