A friend of mine took this vid as he was handling the dogs on a drven hunt at his parent in laws estate.

Makes for great sport, the shooter has the good sence to delay his shot untill the stop,

the total bag of the day was one moose calf and the fallow hinds/female yearlings.

Well I hope it´s enjoyable even thought the subtitels are in Swedish Wink

Best regards to you all/Chris

Yes, good sense is very important on driven hunts. I admit that most of the times I feel a little uneasy, especially when I take a child and it's not organized by the state forest administration.

DUK- my thoughts exactly I was at a hunt this past weekend, a great place, good people and some progressive planning in as much as were to post hunters, however the failed short of having assigned shooting lanes and areas.

I had to hold my shoots tvice due to a gut wrenching feeling of not knowing if it was a safe angle or not,

we had a total bag of 0 game for the day, some eight roes, three moose and two wildboars were seen though.

That uneasy feeling in the mind has no place in shooting as far as I am concerned.

Best regards Chris

I have the impression that in general terms hunters in Skandinavia are very much safety concerned. Never hunted in Sweden but several times in Finland, really liked it, also their spirit of hunting in a group, enjoying the outdoors and not very much looking at the trophy.

DUK- I must agree totaly with that, however at the rare occasion things can become a bit to relaxed.

Regarding the spririt and expressed interest of swedish hunting team, as we spend the most time in the woods hunting and very little time shooting, people with pure interests for the latter will almost always lack the required patience.

For example had a total bag of 3 roe for the 2005 season, I shot at less than 1/7 of my outings.

In short, there was a lot of time to enjoy the nature.

Best regards Chris
