I know it is nothing to do with hunting. Just realised that F Class world Championship is on this weekend at Bisley. Entry as spectator is free of course. Where else you can see this caliber of shooting at close quaters ................ and meet the competitors ? I plan to visit with Ghubert.(Just spoke to him) Anybody fancy meeting up at Hunters Lodge before or afterwards ? It will be a BIG event World Championship.

On July 17th [there are] three matches, the Century 500 and 600 yards and the Admiral Hutton 900 yards. There are a number of different matches just about every single day until Saturday the 25th of July. Then, the World Championships start on Monday July 27, 2009. The whole U.S. F-Class Open team will be shooting the proven 6.5-284 caliber. Several of the other teams are shooting the ballistically superior 7mm calibers, but we expect to outwit them with our calculated wind calls. The English have a ‘home court’ advantage and are utilizing their best wind readers who know the nuances of their ranges inside out.”

Londonhunter- home field advantage is one thing but are you guys really bringing out the shamans to predict and read the winds? Btw- can one read the rain the same eay that one reads migrage or is that a different school all together? Sorry about my ramblings above, I am well avare of the total team effort that goes in to the F-class shooting, I wish I could be there to, taking in the knowledge and ideas of shooting in the winds at Bisley. Well, best regards Chris

Hi H98 I copy and paste the above posting from 6mmBR.com I am amazed it is not widely advertise at all. Perhaps it is my ignorance. I am usually very tuned to all major shooting events goings on. But did not hear about it until a friend casually emailed me thursday lunch. I then called my club secretary and confirmed that we can go as spectator and mingle with competitors. I will be there saturday morning. I am pretty sure Ghubert will be coming as well. For anybody who wants to meet up please PM me for my mobile number. We can either meet up somewhere within the Camp and walk around together. If anybody here is interested I will bring a camera and post some pictures. BTW is Major Farquerson still alive ? Does anybody know ? BTW I also qualified for the world championship shotgun in Slovenia in early August. What a priviledge to attend both world championship in Shotgun and Rifle
