You sold me your 264 Barel so you could have the same thing in a caliber you couldn't buy in America.

You have this Blaser disease farther along than anyone I know!

Only one cure, more Blasers!

Funny........

That is the pot calling the kettle black!

Gives us something to do this winter since the 6*62 and the .45 Blaser projects are done!

Looking for brass and dies, got any ideas?

Aleko,

How do you find your 6x62freres? I very nearly got a 6x62R freres barrel for my K95 in the end did something different.

What sort of velocities do you get and what/where have you got cases/dies?

Thanks

Adam

I bought the cases from Huntington's along with the dies. I like the round very much. It is a solid deer round, and a good rifle for beginners. I'll get some photos up next week

Hey Aleko
Great caliber. I use one in my R93 Blaser Luxus. I reload it with RWS cases, 66.5grains of RL 22, Barnes 120 grs. TSX BT. I got 3300 fps. and outstanding accuracy. I used this charge for my Dagestan Tur Trip in Azerbaijan last September.
Also, toying with a 6x62 Fréres. I got the cases from Horneber. My best load is 55.5 grs. RL 22 and Barnes 85 grs.TSX, measured vel. 3390.
Two years ago, I take best Desert Mule Deer with this charge.
In my next post I will ad. a few photos
Regards

Interesting - was this the best accuracy or velocity?

I just ordered my 6,5 x 68 cases and dies, now to scope it......

On a lighter note the 6*62 will be making a trip to Texas with me in January just to test it out

Hey 1894mk2
Until now, is the best accuracy load.
Here is way I no longer use fireformed cases:
First: I already have enought Horneber cases
Second: I do not like the deformation on the head of fireformed cases.

This is my Desert Mule Deer. I got it with the 6x62 Fréres.

OK, let´s go back to the 6.5x68

My favourite calibre for hunting here in Australia is the 264 Win Mag aka the 6.5X68.

I've found that peak accuracy is with RE 25 or H1000 with any projectiles above 110 grains.

RE 19 works very well with 100BTips.

I had two 6.5X68's in the past, but brass is a problem here in Australia......it's a great round.

Could someone post some pictures and/or data on factory ammunition in 6.5 x 68.

I am especially interested in what the overall length of the factory ammunition is.

I will be developing some loads for commercial sale in the next year, and want to make sure the ammunition will cycle through all the rifles out there.

I'm looking at a 120 grain load in Nosler Ballistic Tip and North Fork, and a 140 g load with the North Fork.

If you have any favorite loads, please feel free to share them here, or by PM or e-mail (johnnoak@cableone.net). I have the usual suspects in mind for powder and primer, but I always listen to what others are having success with.

Just a tease, but here are some of the cartridges that we will be doing for commercial sale:

6.5x54MS
6.5x55SE
6.5x68(S)
270Wby
7x57
7x64Br
7mm Rem Mag
.308
30-06
300 Win Mag
8x57
8x68S
338 Win Mag
9.3x62
9.3x64Br
375H&H
375 Wby
416 Rem Mag
416 Rigby
404 Jeff

For the big bores, and for the unusual cartridges (unusual for North America, that is) we will offer a "practice/economy/target" load. For example, 9.3x62 with the 270 grain Speer bullet, out of Privi Partizan brass. Very accurate and inexpensive, but not suitable for safari.

This is a labor of love (not to the exclusion of a profit!), so The emphasis will be on loading a "great" bullet in each caliber, and using the very best powder, priomer and brass.

BTW Aleko, I called my son in Germany today and asked him to ship over 200+ of the 6.5x68 RWS Hulsen.

LD

PS thanks everybody in advance for your help.

As great a fan as I am of BTs I wouldn't want to use a 120gr BT out of a 6.5x68 - the 125gr partition is a fantastic bullet giving up little in BC or expansion.

What brass will you use for the 6.5x54MS?

Finally is you loaded 275rigby stamped brass you might pick up some exta business.

Lawndart,

If you are going to load the 120NF in the 6.5X68, why not load the 100BT instead of the 120BT, sort of replicate the old RWS load with the 93 bullet.

Regards,

Blair.

Probably RWS for the formal loads.

There are so many good/great bullets to put into the 6.5x68 that I will have to work up several differnt loads. As a small operation it will be easier to get out the loads that people want.

I must get a copy of "Weiderladen" this week.

Any inforemation on factory loads will be appreciated.
