I hadn't seen one of those sporterized AK-74s until your post. I suppose it has the same appeal as an AR-15, but why go to the trouble of putting a wooden stock on it? Besides, in France they have these pesky gun laws that don't allow hunting with rifles with removable magazines, and semi-automatics legal for hunting have to be modified to only two cartridges in the magazine.

I sense a weird fascination with AKs in your posts lately; what gives? And why did you give your iPod to that worthy African gentleman?

actually it's based on a RPK-74, that's probably why they are so heavy

Yes

I have one back in New Zealand and they are available here in Norway.Supprisingly accurate and as expected very robust.Down side is that they accept only designated magazines, once you have a supplier of those then loosing one isn't so painful.
PM me for magazine availability

A lot of people hunt with VEPR in Russia. It is not very accurate but very fast shooting and extremely reliable (as far as AK 47).
