Well it is official my 10,3 barrel is comming for my Blaser. I know that Blaser makes ammunition for the calibre, I have brass and dies, any good resources for bullets and reloading data? Aleko Hits count, misses don't

Aleko, Sorry you are not doing the bear hunt. What diameter does the 10,3 use. I have had excellent results with the Hawk .408 diameter 300 grain .025jkt bullet on deer and pigs at 2330fps. I would use the .035jkt bullet on bigger game. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

Aleko, Call the folks at Wolfgang Romey, and ask them what they put in there Blaser ammo! Superior is pretty brilliant about things as well. I have used them for information before. Seth PS I talked to the other WR and the rifle will stay at that price for another 3 months, and then will talk!

@all Welcome to the 10,3X60R aka 450/400 2 3/8 “BPE†club! I’m using this rifle since 1989. I own a R93 Blaser with this barrel. The normal Ammo I’m using is from Blaser SM-Thun and once I used RWS cartridges 10,3X60R called Kegel-Spitz. Please see this link of my Africa Trip in 2003, which I did with my R93 10,3X60R! 10,3X60R in Africa Due to the fact that I had some bullets failures in Africa I decided to produce my own .413 bullets. I think a 10.3x60R would be a good bbl for the Blaser K 95, too. Aleko I hope you have it up and running in June when I pass through SLC. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

Hi collani, since you are "Mr. 10,3x60R" on this board - are you aware of any non-custom-made double rifle made for it? I always found the idea of having one for hunting driven boar intriguing. Funny Blaser never offered it in their S2 but created the oddball .45 Blaser instead. Cheers, Roman

EuroHunter, You know Blaser makes a K95 barrel for it.

Hi D99, yes - i know. But my prime interest would be using the 10,3x60R for hunting driven boar since it looks promising for that. A Blaser K95 does not fit for that. Obviously we will need to wait until the boars also conquer the Graubuenden montains . Cheers Roman

Roman, My father has a K-95 that I gave him for Christmas last year. He wants a bigger cartridge than the 30-06 and 243 he owns barrels for. I was thinking about the 9.3x74R or the 10.3x60R. I may get both as I am interested in both.

D99, you have to like jumping guns to get either caliber for the K95. It is a pretty light gun, and tends to kick up pretty well with heavier calibers. Apart from that, the 9.3x74R is the more practical of the two calibers. Really should be chambered in a double, though. - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... Mike, Your right about that. The damn K95 whill whack you pretty good, even in 30-06. Both cartridges are better suited to doubles. I always thought Blaser should make a double rifle based on the 45-70 or 444 Marlin cartridges for the American market. It would be a hell of a hog gun.

I have always made mention of the fact that a .45 70 K95 would be a great addition to the line too Aleko Hits count, misses don't

Aleko, Order a few and I will take one in 45-70.

I think for proofing reasons and the international appeal a .444 with heavy bullets may be a better request ? Aleko Hits count, misses don't

I will take one of those too. Aleko, When I get back from Namibia in August, I want to talk to you about a black safari synthetic stock, and 2 more barrels 9.3x64 with sights and a 8x68 with sights. I also want two rail mount Zeiss' for the barrels. 1.75-6 and 4.5-14. I have to pay for taxidermy first.

What is the bore diameter, of the 10,3? Collani, have you ever exported your bullets? I have the RWS brass, looking for bullets Aleko Hits count, misses don't

Hi Aleko The diameter of the 10,3 bullets is exactly 0.413 inches (10,50mm). The bullets are available in Switzerland. I once send some bullets in Germany and in Austria. But no experiences sending to the USA! I have to check if I could find a gunsmith which has done some export to Your country. RWS brass is good, the accuracy of the 10,3x60R is very good. SUB-Moa is no problem! Good shooting and good hunting Collani Gian Marchet Colani - the most famous mountain chamois hunter in the European Alps....

Aleko couldn't we shoot .411 405 WCF bullets out of this thing? .002 isn't much differnce to worry about. I supposed a guy could call Hawk and askt hem to swage some to that diameter.

@all I have tried the following bullets for the 10,3x60R: From left to right. - Barnes "X" Bullet 0.411/300 Grains - Swift A-Frame Bullet 0.411/350 Grains - Hornady Bullet 0.411/300 Grains - Woodleigh Bullets0.412/300 Grains - Gian-Marchet® "Original" Bullet 0.413/254 Grains. The Muzzle-Velocity with the factory Bullets were around 680m/s (approx. 2230 fps). The accuracy of those loads was approx. 1 ½ inches at 109 yards (100m). The pressure were about 2’900 Bar. If you can live with those loads, then go ahead! Good shooting and good hunting Collani Gian Marchet Colani - the most famous mountain chamois hunter in the European Alps....

In my 450/400, and 9,3 doubles I have used Hawk bullets with great results. In the 450/400 I have killed deer and several pigs with a 300 grain .025jkt at @2330fps. This bullet expands pretty good, as it coins out most of the time. I recover about 50% of them from hogs shot broadside. I have also used a Hawk 400gr .035jkt bullet in the 450/400 at @2150fps on one hog. He was hit running with a quarting shot. The bullet was recovered with a good mushroom, but still had some shank on it. I have also taken several deer impala and wild pigs with a Hawk bullet in my 9.3x74R. I used a 285 gr .035 jkt bullet at @2330 fps, again with excellent performance. Baised on all of the above I think a Hawk bullet of 350 grains with the .035jkt would be about right for the 10,3. Hawk bullets have given me almost 100% one shot, drop to the shot kills. I think one pig ran about 20 feet. http://www.hawkbullets.com DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

I was guessing we could use .411", I was thinking about paper patch lead bullets too. I noticed the woodleigh, but I like the shape of Collani's bullets. The barrel should be here any day Aleko Hits count, misses don't

And, if you run into trouble with the brass, our friend Bruce in Victoria makes the Blaser factory stuff, too. This is one cartridge I would have liked to have seen as a BBF in the 95/97. Cheers, Dave. Non Illegitium Carborundum Cheers, Dave. Aut Inveniam Viam aut Faciam.
