Hi guys,
3 week ago I buy a new rifle, this looks nice, have a good price, ecc, ecc...
Than I drive to the stand to test this, I shot about 12 shot without to find a feeling with this gun. I was disappointed. It's difficolt for me to explain exactly why, but I was disapponted!!!
This rifle was a Steyer-Mannlicher Pro Hunter cal 300 Win Mag.
One week later I change this for a Kongsberg 393 Hunter in same caliber.
I shot with many rifles and this is the first time that I don't understand a rifle.
Do some of you have also a similar experience???

Well yes, however not only after 12 rounds, one reason might be that I according to swedish gun laws cant have more than 6 rifles and to exchange one, I´ll have to sell one, to fit my new one?

I tend to be a bit more elective in my choice of firearms.

I have had two regretts regarding rifles I have bought, one was a Sako 243 with microrifled barrel, was shot out, second a husqvarna model 310 shotgun, barrels missprinted.

Sold one, rebarreled the other.

Best regards Chris.

I've never had the issues you described with a rifle, but often have had problems "bonding" with a shotgun. I'll probably get picked up on this but I thinnk shotgun shooting is far more instinctive and as suce the connection with the gun is a bit different.

Worst thing I did was sell my Browning GTi Ultra because it wasn't preyy enough for the driven shiooting I was going on, and the gun I replaced it with has never really cut the mustard. We live and learn, apart from when we keep making the same mistakes.... Wink

FB,

I have to agree with the shotgun thing, years ago I had an old Gunmark Kestrel SBS 12 bore, now pretty it was not, this thing was just functional and nothing more. However it seemed to me that I shot anything and everything I pointed it at, I loved that little gun, but in the end my gunsmith told me the time had come, there was nothing more he could do fot it, a bit like a vet with a dog, so I let it go to the scrapheap. Never have had such a relationship, if you can call it that, with a shotgun since.

I am happy to report that I have never had a bad "feeling" rifle though.

Bad feelings, it's happend to me twice.
Once with an AYA shotgun, the model 25 boxlock, I just could not shoot with it, it was traded in for an AYA model 4 with 26 inch barrels. Boom boom no problems.
The second was a Sako 75 in 7mm-08, I shot a few animals with it but it just did not feel right. That was traded I can't remember what for.
Happy New Year to one and all.
