I have both a SAKO AV Fiberclass and a Sako 75.
Obviously there are some differences. I was wondering what the consensus was among those here? Which do you like better and why?

I have both, they are the rifles I use most; a new 75 in 6PPC and and old .375H&H.

It seems that the older models kick quite hard, as I have noticed my .375H&H has more percieved recoil than most of the other rifles of similar wieght I have shot in the same chambering.

A friend who shot a new 75 S/S in .375H&H said it was sweet, more like a .338 or .30-06 even...

I would like to get one, but cant bring myself to substitute the old .375.

As for the new 75, I havent been happeier with any other rifle Ive ever owned....

Well, if one wants to be anal about these things. From the "90-series" (i.e. 491, 591 etc) Sako introduced a non-integral locking lug on their actions. That was a less than optimal step - probably taken to cut production costs. IMHO, that makes the "60-series" (i.e. 461, 561 etc) or the "A-series" (i.e. AI, AII, AIII, AV) actions more attractive. Some people even dote on the very early L46 actions, although personally, I prefer the L461 - better trigger, nicer trigger guard, no detachable mag.

In the earlier (60 or A) series, occasionally one runs into the target triggers - externally adjustable. I think these were only put on the single shots - PPCs for sure. This is the best trigger available, but scarce these days. Again, this is something not offered on the 75 series.

The 75 series does have a lower bolt lift due to its 3-lug design. Something neither 60 or A series offer.
