Having loitered a bit, I thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm a 40 year old stalker, living in the UK amongst the hills of the English / Welsh border. I mostly hunt for the freezer - there's plenty of Roe and Fallow on the 10,000 acres I hunt close to home - but I'm not averse to a trophy head or two. I also have access to some lovely ground in Aberdeenshire with good Roe and Reds, and some nice woodland in Oxfordshire full of Muntjac, Fallow and Roe.

I'm always interested in swapping stalking with other people - I've just got back for a swap-stalk to Ireland, hunting wild Billy goats and Sika.

I'm hoping to sort out some overseas hunting this year - particularly hunting baboons and hyenas. I shoot .223R; .270W and .300WM and I'm a self-confessed reloading anorak Roll Eyes

I look forward to being part of the AR community.

Adam.

If only you could smell the goat! He reeked like the most foetid teenage boy's bedroom imaginable...

Pete - the goats were taken in Tipperary, Republic of Ireland a couple of weeks ago.

Amir - I've just realised the beard / moustache combo is about to celebrate its 20th birthday. I haven't tried wax yet though... Give me a ring - I've got some new stalking for you to come up and try out.

Hello and welcome - that's a very nice billy. I hope the mount doesn't end up too smelly!

How did you find the stalking? I shot some goats in W. Ireland and they weren't the smartest of animals. Scenery was fantastic though!

They were tougher than I expected, although that was probably more to do with the vertical terrain and my expanded waistline than any reflection on the goats... If you're happy to shoot them at range, they're easy enough - if you want to stalk them close enough to get a good look at their horns, they're a bit cannier than sheep but less jumpy than deer.

End of season Irish Sika were a different matter though - their stalker-detection ability was damn-near supernatural!

I'm expecting my goat mount to spend a year or two in quarantine in the workshop before Mrs A. deems it safe for display.

Thanks for the kind welcomes.

Mind you, I'm a bit nervous about all the Scandinavians in here - I've just been stalking with a Dane, a Swede and a Norwegian (which sounds like a 'three men went into a pub joke' but isn't) and I don't think my liver will ever recover beer . Have you guys all got hollow legs?

Adam.
