Wife shot down the idea of me shooting two more Buffalo in Tanzania this year. Go figure. My house is littered with Buffalo as it is. Roll Eyes

Said she wants to go to Europe, I am thinking she would enjoy Eastern Europe. I know they have good Stag hunting there to ... just a coincidence I am sure. Yes, I am crafty that way. Smiler

Ok, so where do I go and with what company?

I'm looking into a hunt for Isard Chamois from the French side of the beautiful Pyrenean mountains.
They do have Stag there also.

Stag mainly. Boar and or Roe deer would be fine as well.

If you want a hunt for a real wild unfenced roe and red, Poland is one of the best price/quality options.

For excellent red stags but with better weather, far better food and cheaper trophy fees, come and try the hunting in Portugal. Good boar hunting and Fallow deer too, plus some great hare and partridge shooting if you come from September onward, with the option of sloping off to the coast afterwards to keep the Mrs happy Wink

We had a number of CIC silver heads and one or two CIC gold heads during 2012, but even the run of the mill representative 12 pointers make a great trophy.

Just back from a short hunt in Croatia - had fun with hunting boars by stalking.

I've whitnessed a great 2 min display of a huge herd of trophy Stags scrambled by my shot that was on the way across a long meadow. Later on, when we were colecting boars from morning hunts - we bumped once again into a small part of that herd. When I pull my stuff together I will post a full report with the mentioned herd in full length - till then just an apperizer - for best wiev watch directly on You Tube in HD and Full screen:

Agreed!
If you come pre-rut (Sept or so) you can hunt roe-, red deer and boars in one trip. i can set you up with a friend or recommend some agents if you want.

I would tell you to come and hunt in Portugal but as you said Eastern Europe i strongly advice Romania as an excellent choice and Abies Hunting runned by Mr. Arpad Sarkani the best company without a shadow of a doubt.
I hunt Romania for the last 14 years for wildboars and i can assure you he is the best Romanian outfitter and the most correct and honest man i have ever known in the hunting industry. He also offers hunts in Hungary and Austria.

Actually I'm open to suggestions. Poland, Romania, Croatia, whatever you guys recommend.

Indi, thanks for the link, I will check him out.

Mouse93, sweet video! Hard to tell antler quality on the iPad, but I can tell one of the last stags to come out was a bruiser! Who was that hunt with?

I watched that video again, I saw 14 potential shooters, give or take 1-2! That's pretty impressive.

Thanks for the PM. I'll look into this.

I have guided in the roar, but never been the shooter in the roar. All my stag have been post roar. While I would love to hunt in the roar, looks like you had opportunities, even though the season was closed.

I can personally recommend Bulgaria as one of the top Red Stag hunting destinations.

The last four world records, as well as the current one 273.60 CIC p., are taken in Bulgaria.
Trophies in Bulgaria easily surpass 12 kg. Our best trophies are in the North Eastern part of Bulgaria where terrains are mostly flat. In the mountains trophies usually do not exceed 10 kg and no hunting area will let you shoot a red deer with trophy less than 7 kg.

Wendell, take a look at Diana Jagtrejser and their hunt for red stag in Hungary or Poland.
