Hi guys,

I hope you remeber discussion about possible world record roebuck from Serbia.
Most of us said that it's ugly and maybe on some steroids.
Serbians officially scored by CIC and they claimed that is the world record, natural and legal.
However, as many of us suspected it was fraud and you can check this. Also if someone can translate in English it would be great for most of us.
I have a photo from the magazine when this trophy was alive in some barn but I can't put it here Confused

google translate:

In the 14 July in the Vojvodina shot record buck is probably a buck out of a gate.

This is evidenced by a photo that was sent to the editorial WILD AND DOG by the International Council for the Conservation (CIC).

Since neither the sender nor the gates are known, has suspended WILD AND DOG a reward for information that give clues to the gate or the breeder. The gate photo and the current facts of the situation can be found in WILD AND DOG 21/2009 page 88

If you email the pic to me, I would be glad to put it up here. Alternatively if you have a link to the picture, I'll see if I can post from there,

Regards,

Peter

Sad to hear such practices affecting roe.

I do think people are a bit quick to condemn trophies that aren't theirs. It's certainly not a classic shape but I defy anyone on this forum to exclaim 'how ugly I wish I'd shot a little 6 point!'

Actualy I don't think it looks that huge apart from the pedicles which are truly enormous.

Sorry, I still think its really ugly! Big Grin

That said, if it were genuine, it would certainly make an "interesting" trophy, but I much prefer the aesthetics of a good medal class 6 pointer...

I certainly believe that the 6 Pointer is the medal to have the true roe trophy.

But i do like this one it is between a six and an eight.

For me that is an animal that needs to be removed for its own good so is a cull animal. With regards its head gear that to me is wrong .

Yes, French call them "chevreuils a perruque" (perruque=wig). It seems that sometimes the wig can grow so abnormaly to even cover the eyes.

Is a dream of perruque head... not the nicest I have see but one really nice!
Anyway the "world record " is now clear that is a artificially created (whit temporaney castration).
the dubt is if the hunter and the outfitter knowing this or are players they also.
The stupid thing is that one can made a world record whit normal and not suspicius antlers now, looks for a good blood captive roe, the right alimentation and the right age, and you can made easy a nice looking 1000-1200 gr head. Only a little more expensive, bacause you have to breed the buck at the last 4 year and a good breded buck whit super genetic is rare and expensive.
And if you made this, don't make pics of it when is in the box...
