Good Morning All

Long time since I posted on here due to living in the Middle East for a few years with a young family. I'm now finding myself back in the UK, with frequent visits to the Middle East rather than the other way around. I am therefore keen to blow the dust out of my barrels and get into some UK stalking again.

Around 15-20 years ago I used to go up to some forestry in the Borders where the NW branch of the BDS had a lease. The place was called Ramseygrain and it is now probably clear fell, but it was a great weekend away in the middle of the forest in an old caravan with only the mice for company.

I'm wondering if, realistically speaking, opportunities such as Ramseygrain still exist? Ideally I'd be looking for a few days a year where I can stalk unaccompanied, either in the West Country or in the Borders.

These days UK stalking all seems to be qualifications, H&S and moderators. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm afraid I'd prefer to sell my rifles rather than stick a can on the end. My quals are probably out of date, but include BDS NSCC (1993), BDS Advanced Stalker (1997), DMQ1, MOD authorised deer manager (AMA), NRA Range Officer, a glittering career as an infantry officer (84-97), a few years farming in the South West and a some sporting excitement in Africa.

If anyone has wind of any syndicate type opportunities then I'd be delighted to hear from you.
