Yes nightwalker, local LandRover Dealer hear in Belfast has a late 2003 TD4 with 42000 on the clock for £6995. there will be loads of them on comming on the market now the Freelander 2 is on sale.

An interesting topic, cheers folks - we have gone for the Honda CRV (settled by a good trade in on Golf and an Almera)

Reliability won over effectiveness of pure off road ability - just hope i haven't bought a dud!!!

I had my CRV for 4 years, and used it on very varied summer and winter roads here in the High North. Not an offroad car, but plenty good for lousy backroads and snow and ice.

Never a tecnically problem of any sort.
