Quote: Hmm... A handfull of men alone for months at a time... Vasiline... Should have seen that one coming... I can put your mind to rest with the fact that we had little or no oppertunties to wash ourselves during winter except a "snow bath". In minus 20 to minus 35 degrees I can tell you that I didn't take many! Thus the level of stink was quite high... Even the horniest, kinkiest "Poo Pirate" would have been turned off by my body odour! Hell, my own stench even made myself sick to my stomage sometimes! So Martin, do you have any bear hunting experiance in your country? Erik D.

The Royal Navy refer to soldiers as Pongos because where ever the soldiers go, the Pong go's Having to turn your underwear inside out is not a problem; Having to do that several times is where the fun starts! Regards, Pete

Sorry Erik, no bear hunting experience at all! I know about that level of smell... Perhaps the concept "jgartvtt" (Ranger's laundry?) is familiar for a Norwegian as well? It consists of turning your underwear inside out. I will visit Norway next week by the way, sea trout fishing on river Laerdal. Regards, Martin

Eric, Pong is a slang word for smell for instance if something stinks you might say it "pongs" And your English is far, far better than my Swedish or Norwegian! Regards, Pete
