I had the really great fortune a few weeks ago. I didn't know how it would pan out until today.

I had asked my local Cabelas about a pair of 8x56 Swarovskis and was told they didn't carry that model anymore. So the guy said he would look at other Cabelas stores and see if anyone had one. As he was looking at the inventory, I looked over his shoulder and saw that at least someone had a pair. So he had them send them to me. For what I thought was supposed to be $1200 as they were new, but old stock, and Swarovski is having a 60th anniversary sale.

This morning I got the call to come pick them up and was told I owed $850, that they would honor the Swarovski 60th Anniversary discount percentage, since they were new, and price them cheaply as they were a few years old.

I opened the box and they came with a gold lapel pin. I hadn't seen a pair of Swarovskis' with that pin in a long time. Not since 2001 when I bought a pair of 7x42 SLCs. The EL's I bought in 2005 did not have it.

What do you think, good deal or what?
